I’m Fariyal Pirani, the owner of Kurves Threading Studio and the person who does every appointment. I learned eyebrow threading in India, I am certified in eyebrow threading, and I threaded in Canada before I came to Farragut. I opened Kurves on Friday, 3 November 2017, in Suite 20 on Kingston Pike.

Who will do my threading at Kurves?

I will. Kurves is my own studio, and I do the threading and henna myself. You see the same person every visit, so I get to know your brows and the shape you like.

I thread women and men. Eyebrows, upper lip, chin, sides of the face, forehead, neck and full face are all on the services page, and every price is on the prices page.

Where did you learn threading?

In India, my home country. A friend of mine was going to learn eyebrow threading, so I went with her. That is how it started. I trained there, and I am certified in eyebrow threading. To confirm name of your threading certificate, who issued it, and the year

How did Kurves come to Farragut?

I was threading in Canada before I moved here. When I arrived, a friend told me I could rent a salon suite and run my own studio. I found Studios West Salon Suites at 10843 Kingston Pike, met the owner, liked the space, and moved in. Kurves opened in Suite 20 on Friday, 3 November 2017.

The Farragut Press covered the opening that month. You can read the article on our press page.

Why thread instead of wax?

Thread lets me shape the brow hair by hair. Thread is doubled, twisted and rolled over the hair I want to remove, so I can follow the line that suits your face. As I told the Farragut Press in 2017: “With thread, I can give you a shape.” (Tammy Cheek, Farragut Press, 16 November 2017)

Does it hurt? I always answer honestly: some people feel it, some people don’t. Everybody is different.

Do you do henna too?

Yes. I do henna designs for occasions like Eid, Diwali, weddings and baby showers. See henna for small designs and bridal henna if you are getting married.
